According to the official website of the United Nations, the Interpol Center UN has been included in the "Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council" directory

It holds consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council and is an important symbol of international recognition of a non-governmental organization. By granting non-governmental organizations consultative status with ECOSOC, the United Nations recognizes their international importance, establishes working relationships and plays the role of these organizations in international affairs.

In accordance with United Nations Economic and Social Council resolution 1996/31, non-governmental organizations in special consultative status may establish institutions and permanent representatives at United Nations buildings in New York, Geneva and Vienna, may designate authorized representatives to attend meetings of the Council and its subsidiary bodies as observers, may apply to participate in relevant international conferences convened by the United Nations and meetings of their preparatory bodies, may make brief statements and submit written reports, and may be entrusted by the United Nations Economic and Social Council and its subsidiary bodies, Conduct special research surveys or prepare specific papers for the Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations.
